молоко [məɫɐˈko]

Werkstadt Gallery presents the installation молоко [məɫɐˈko] as well as photographic artwork by Dorothee Kletzsch.

Empty beverage cartons have been unfolded, cleaned, and put together into a body called молоко.
600 rooms, each of them providing space for 1 litre of beverage, have been turned into a room, where now a human being can enter and be seated. "молоко" is the russian name for "milk", pronounced [məɫɐˈko]. During a stay inside молоко the viewer listens to spoken texts, which are informative or stimulate chains of thought. Milk as primal food leads in several aspects back to human origins.

Packaging of semi-luxury foods are the starting point of the photography series gloria, rosemary, virginia, grace, josephine, olivia and lucia, shortly GLORIA. Everyday material, usually regarded as garbage, has been put in the spotlight. Objects that are wraps and bodies, or parts of a body at the same time, become leading actresses performing in front of an audience.

Parallel with the construction of the body space entity молоко [məɫɐˈko] research has been taking place, the results of which have been recorded. Insight into newly gained knowledge on topics such as garbage, human body, production, and consumption of milk products and the links between them alternate with poetic short stories which have been written in the same time period.
